IPC UK Invitational Cardiff 23rd January

On Saturday one of the main events on the British Paralympic Powerlifting calendar will take place at the Welsh Institute of Sport, Cardiff.   The WCL athletes (Anthony Peddle, Martin Tweedie, Roxanne Lucock, Adam Alderman) spent last weekend on a preparation camp in Leeds where they worked with the WCL Coaches on their warm-up and opening weights, they also worked with Brian Cunniffe, the WCL Performance scientist on their hydration strategies.   Anthony Peddle and Natalie Blake will be looking to retain their overall titles across weight categories on AH formula.

With the new IPC Licensing scheme now in place this will be the first opportunity in 2010 for athletes to post a lift on the Paralympic Powerlifting World Ranking list, which will be used for selection for London 2012.  For full details on the IPC qualification criteria for London 2012 can be found here.

The competition starts at 11.00am. on Saturday, with athlete weigh in at 9.00 am.
