Perdue represents Great Britain at World Championships

Natasha Perdue,  in her first major championships for Great Britain, was the only athlete to travel to Goyang, to compete at the World Championships.  Feeling the pressure of needing to post a result for the Great Britain team she started nervously, narrowly missing her first lift of 86kg in the snatch, coming out for her 2nd lift at the same weight she got it easily  , her 3rd lift of 90kg  she did lifted  but unfortunately dropped behind.

In the Clean and Jerk, Perdue started with 105kg which she got comfortably , she then increased the weight to 109kg, which she cleaned well, then failed the jerk in front. For her 3rd attempt she stayed with 109kg, it was a very safe lift, giving  her with a total of 195kg, to finish 17th.  Natasha Perdue is currently training out of the WCL HPC at Leeds Met University under the guidance of WCL Lead Coach Tamas Feher , where  both technical and physically  she has made good improvements  in the last 2 months with personal bests  in a number of the main training exercises.  This bodes well for both the European Championships in April and the Commonwealth Games in October, Perdue will resprsent Wales at the Commonwealth Games.

Gurbinder Cheema did not travel after failing a late fitness test.
