PB's all round  as Scots win in Malta.

Scotland sent a team of 3 lifters and 1 coach to the 2nd Charles Mifsud Open which allso hosted the Small Nations  championships. They were Dylan Scott, Graeme Kane, Peter Kirkbride and Charlie Hamilton (coach). First up were Dylan and Graeme in a group of 17 lifters. Dylan lifted well getting all 3 snatches with 75-78-81kg, in the clean and jerk he did 95-98 and only just missed his last lift of 101kg where he cleaned it but missed the jerk to give a total 179kg at a body weight of 54.95kg. Next it was Graeme who lifted will great focus, he ran through snatches of 110-115-120kg,  his final snatch being a PB.  In the clean and jerk he got 140-145kg and cleaned in 150kg in his last attempt but missed the jerk to total 265kg for a PB at a body weight of 77.08kg.  Last but not least was Peter Kirkbride in a group of 9 lifters. Peter missed his 1st snatch of 130kg then got it on his second attempt and did an easy 140kg to finish. In the clean and jerk, Peter was more focussed and was successful with all his lifts of 170-178-183kg for a new PB total of 323kg at a body weight of 89.86kg.  The awards were for the best team of 3 lifters, Scotland was first with 988 Sinclair points and Ireland second , in third was Cyprus. Dylan won the best youth award and Peter won the best senior award. All in all it was a well run competition.
